Modular Colo Suites Delivered in Partnership with GBE
TB2 Mechanical delivered key cooling water systems across two high-pressure modular data centre builds in North Acton. Initially brought in for a single Colo, we consistently demonstrated capability under pressure, resulting in expanded scope. These projects have marked a significant chapter in our growth, with increased technical responsibility and consistent delivery in a Tier 1 contracting environment.
Client Challenge
GBE were responsible for delivering modular cooling systems within a high-profile, multi-contractor data centre development. Working under the mechanical contractor Kirby, and alongside the principal contractor and end client, the build required precise coordination, consistent quality, and exact sequencing. Cooling water systems were large diameter (DN100–DN400), and QA standards were strict due to the nature of the facility and client expectations.
Our Impact
On LON01 (2024), TB2 Mechanical were initially contracted to deliver Colo 1. After proving ourselves on site, we were awarded Colos 2 and 4. We carried out all installation of DN100 and DN400 cooling water pipework to a high standard, completing on tight timelines despite a commercially constrained contract. On-site measurements were consistently accurate, enabling effective prefabrication by GBE and avoiding delays. Our delivery was driven by resilience, work ethic, and day-to-day consistency.
By LON02 (2025), we had matured as a business and were awarded the full package of all four modular Colos from the outset. These were the only modular suites on the second build, and we approached the project with clear internal systems, strong site management, and a more professional structure. This allowed us to take on significant responsibility while also delivering successfully on other projects at the same time.

In Partnership with Briggs & Forrester Special Projects
TB2 Mechanical delivered key packages across two college campuses for Briggs & Forrester Special Projects, a full mechanical installation including on-site welding and fabrication at Oaklands College St Albans and a CHW/LTHW distribution and terminal unit package with extensive radiator replacement at Highfields College, Nottingham.
Client Challenge
Oaklands required a new mechanical system installed from scratch on a new build construction site. Highfields, by contrast, demanded fast-track delivery within a summer shutdown window, requiring a clear plan, responsive supervision, and strong control over distribution pipework and coordination with other trades.
Our Impact
Oaklands set the tone for our relationship with Briggs & Forrester Special Projects, with install quality praised directly by the client. At Highfields, TB2 Mechanical proved its ability to perform efficiently under pressure, delivering consistent standards on a compressed programme.

In Partnership with Renewable Micro Solutions (RMS)
TB2 Mechanical was engaged by RMS to support heating infrastructure upgrades across two live NHS hospital sites. The works involved large-scale installation of LTHW services from newly constructed energy centres to multiple operational plant rooms, followed by internal secondary connections across hospital wings. Both schemes required careful integration into existing systems without disrupting hospital operations.
Client Challenge
RMS required a trusted delivery partner capable of operating efficiently across sensitive, live hospital environments. TB2 Mechanical were brought in based on proven reliability and mechanical competence, our role was to deliver robust installation with minimal disruption, working in sync with RMS’s existing infrastructure and supervision model.
Our Impact
At Luton & Dunstable, TB2 Mechanical delivered primary and secondary LTHW pipework cleanly and efficiently across ten live plant rooms. Strong coordination and professional conduct earned positive client feedback and reinforced our reputation as a capable mechanical contractor. This led directly to further works at High Wycombe Hospital, a similar district heating project where TB2 Mechanical demonstrated consistency and control. Together, these jobs played a key role in building the operational backbone of our business and developing the next generation of pipefitters within our team.

Could not recommend TB2 Mechanical highly enough. I was responsible for overseeing a 6 week project of a district heating system install within a confined space tunnel for a Tier 1 contractor. TB2 Mechanical went above and beyond to ensure the project was completed on time, whilst delivering a high quality install.
One of the best mechanical contractors I have ever come across with. They are passionate about the job, highly professional and would recommend them to anyone. Hopefully I will bring them in on my next project.
